The Beginning.....

So here goes......

How about Women to Women and the church service today? Weren't they really good? Not like they always aren't but man, the worship was amazing and uplifting and did you notice how Sarah's message and Brian's message went hand in hand AGAIN! It will always amaze me how I can be in Sunday school, in church and then listen to a sermon on the radio and they all hit on the same message. Of course, it's God. Now all I have to do is listen because if I'm hearing the same thing in three or four different places, it's probably a message I need to hear, right? :-) I'm learning to listen, REALLY listen!

So after church today I was headed for the rec center to workout. But when I left church I could not believe how warm it was and that beautiful sun.....wow, it blew me away. I thought "there is NO WAY I'm working out INSIDE". So I came home and Bill and I went to the reservoir to walk the trail. Bill kept saying "we are going to get in the storm", "we aren't going to make it far" and so on.....he tends to look at the dark side of things......but here's the rub, he's almost always right!! Darn it! This time was no exception. I got the workout of my life!! We got about two miles into our walk/run and it started to rain! Prior to that I was enjoying God's beautiful earth. The breeze was blowing, the sun was shining on the water....seriously, it was heaven on earth. Then the rain......Every time we heard thunder, we would RUN as far as we could (well really it was as far as I could, Bill can RUN the entire 5 mile trail) and then we'd walk really fast and then it would thunder again and we would take off running. I was praying "Dear Lord, keep us safe from lightening and falling trees, please". What a workout...we actually ran more than we walked those two miles back to the car. We were soaked to our skin and I felt like a little kid again. How fun was that to play in the rain? Bill had loosened up a bit and dropped his worried face and we had fun laughing and running. I am so blessed to have such a loving husband. God knew just what he was doing by introducing us so many years ago! I hope you all enjoy the little things that God offers for our pleasure. I find that sometimes it is Laney's laugh or squirrels playing or dogs barking or flowers blooming or budding trees or bright sunshine, that really gets me through some days. My prayer for each of you is that you find pleasure in the little things.

For this week I would just ask you to keep Mandy in your prayers. Pray that she would have an easy surgery and delivery and that her healing would be short and complete. Pray for little Gavin Anthony too! I can't wait to meet him! Pray also that I will be able to be with you all on Tuesday night! I want to be, God willing!

I love you all! Have a truly wonderful, truly God-filled week!

Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest? Luke 12:25-26

Dianna,
This is such a wonderful idea! I'm in, so to speak. I'm a little nervous about summer too. It's funny- I get into the rhythm of the school year and then summer hits and I fall out of step. Then I get back in line with a summer routine and fall hits. I think it is evident to me as I type this that my attitude depends upon whatever storm I'm facing. Generally speaking.
Dianna, how do you keep that positive attitude? Has there ever been a time when you didn't have it? I need a little help in that area.
It's been a late night grading papers, responding to parent emails (upset ones) and lesson planning.
It was a fun time at Deb's house on Friday, Dianna, I agree.
And, I love being outside too!
